Usability testing gives real behaviours about what people do, rather than just asking what people think. Rather than just guessing about what people might like, you can see their reactions first and make sure the product contains just the right features.

Usability testing helps to understand the interaction between the hardware, software and the business processes from the perspective of the people who work with the product every day. Testing early and testing often means that you stay touch with the user’s needs throughout the development process. Testing in the early stage helps to make changes based on what you find and at this stage is cheaper to implement.

Accessibility testing is a practice to ensure that the web/mobile applications are accessible for people who have disabilities such as blindness, hearing problems, motor or cognitive impairments, users with low digital skills. Testing web accessibility ensures that the web content is reachable to anyone without any barriers. The concept of accessible design and practice of accessible development ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers).

Accessibility is not to be confused with usability, which is the extent to which a product (such as a device, service, or environment) can be used by specified users to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction in a specified context of use.
